Often we tend to put our loved ones on a pedestal. We carry in our thoughts a perfect picture of them. When a crushing event in life happens, as with a relationship breakup, we are left feeling devastated when our loved one is no longer on our picture perfect pedestal.

If you find your heart is closed to forgiving your ex, then you should embrace the importance of forgiving your ex. Getting an ex back and having a healthy relationship cannot occur without forgiveness.

Even if you and your ex do not reunite, you will find your life is much happier when you heart is not filled with bitter, unrelenting and tormented feelings. Having a heart filled with bitterness can negatively impact your future relationships.

Forgiving does not mean forgetting. Many people often feel both are necessary. Forgiveness mean releasing those unrelenting and tormented feelings, so your heart can find peace and contentment.

No matter how hard you try, you cannot change what has happened. But you can change how you feel. Realize we all make mistakes and at some point in life we will need to seek forgiveness ourselves. The need for forgiveness is imperative when pursuing getting an ex back.

Are feelings of "getting an ex back" stirring in your heart and you are having difficulty in forgiving your ex? The importance of forgiving your ex can be seen by these points.

1. No magical wand can change the past. It is what it is ... the past.

2. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes.

3. A heart that has been opened to forgiveness will have contentment.

4. Your life will be happier, regardless of whether you and your ex reunite.

5. When getting an ex back, a healthy and loving relationship will not be possible if your heart is consumed with piercing and burning feelings of un-forgiveness.
