The Real Truth About Feng Shui Crystals

by Kyle Richey

Do you remember finding out that Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy didn't exist? You might have been disappointed at the time but looking back as an adult I am sure you can laugh about those things now. Doesn't it seem a bit silly to have believed in them before?

You may be in for another upset if you have been using crystals that you thought were fung shui. In the world of true feng shui, there are no crystals.

When Chinese feng shui was introduced to the western world, it became intermingled with various New Age thinking and beliefs. This adulterated the true art and science of feng shui. Plenty of unscrupulous people decided to jump on the bandwagon, using the popularity of this new art and science and started slapping feng shui labels on pretty much any product for a quick sale. This is how feng shui candles were born, feng shui ornaments and feng shui crystals, when in fact there is no such thing! People in the west did not know enough about this eastern science to realize it was a hoax.

Do not get too upset just yet. After all, you are grown now and the disappointment about Santa is over, right? Perhaps a little about the valid use of feng shui and its history will help you to look at this logically.

The Original Feng Shui Art

Feng shui is not a hard art to follow. Since many people do not totally understand it, they assume it is harder than it is. An expert is not needed to explain in detail how to use feng shui. Due to so many people believing that you do need a reader, wrong information has been added to this ancient art. Among these is the use of crystals.

Feng shui is all about peace, balance, positive energy and harmony. There is no talisman or magic bullet that can bring these things into your life. For example, if your spouse won't talk to you or if you are having a secret affair, all the crystals in the world won't magically bring your marriage back to its former health. You might hang a hundred feng shui crystals all over your bedroom mirror but your relationship will still contain much chaos and disharmony as before.

Cleaning up your home and your personal life will be what is needed to make feng shui work for you. Clutter has to be removed in order for feng shui to work. Having old things laying around that you never use will enhance the negative and keep the positive from entering. Sometimes the negative seems to take over however it you declutter and concentrate on the good, the negative will disappear.

When Feng Shui Crystals Can Be Useful

Some people just like the way crystals look. These might be natural crystal wands, tumbled and polished crystals or ornaments featuring crystals. They reflect the light and can add brightness to a dark room or corner. If you like crystal ornaments because of this or you like to look at the crystal hanging from your rearview mirror, then keep it. There is nothing in the feng shui principles that recommends you not to have it.
